I would argue a lot with people a few years ago, but now I feel like I have more important things to do. Like you, I feel like if I believe in something, I should be defending it. But since I don't feel like I am going to change anyone's opinions, I don't do it. It is much easier for people to descend into pettiness when you challenge their world view than to concede that you may have a point.
