Yeah, I used to have some hope of changing people's minds on the internet, but I don't think it happens often or when it does it is not usually not the person(s) you are directly arguing with who shifts their thinking. That and the rapid decline in quality of discourse so often makes arguing on the internet a lose-lose proposition.
